Hi, thanks for finding your way over here!

My name is Nonjabulo Sangweni-Arahill. I also go by Non(i).

I'm a South African born, U.S based author and editor. My first novel, 'The Pots (that mothers leave for their daughters)' was longlisted for the Dinaane Debut Fiction Award.

I often get asked why I chose to write and this is my honest answer: I think writing chose me. It's come to be how I make sense of the world, a continuous journey of self-discovery. As an author, it's how I share my voice with the world. As a copywriter, it's how I help others showcase theirs.

I am currently working on a YA fantasy series. The first book in the series 'The Witch is my Grandmother' is due for release in 2025.

Isn't that a huge switch in genre you ask? Well, for me, writing is art, and art has no limits, no categories, no boundaries. What I know is I need to write, but I don't put restraints on myself about what I can write. That would kill my art and I could never willingly do that. I simply write the story inside me at that moment.

I believe it's important to know the motivation behind our actions, that sometimes that motivation is just as important as the action itself.

As an Editor

My Mission

To help authors polish their manuscripts to bring forth their best vision of their work.

My Why

Writing is hard. Creating a story with new characters and complex plotlines that is both engaging and a joy to read is no easy feat. It can get more difficult when you've been in that world for so long that you can no longer see it objectively. I'm here to act as a fresh set of eyes for authors, helping them to catch mistakes and holes that threaten the integrity of their story. My joy is not only finding these issues, but helping to fix them.

As an Author

My Mission

To help new and aspiring authors hone their craft. To help self-published authors thrive.

My Why

Publishing has been and remains a pretty closed-off industry. It's difficult to break in and that can discourage so many aspiring authors. I want to help authors improve their craft so they can get published or explore the possibility of self-publishing. I want to do my part to ensure that we don't get robbed of great books simply because of the often narrow posts of the publishing gatekeepers.
